CWT (formerly known as Carlson Wagonlit Travel) has published their forecast for airfare, and it appears they may be trending down in April.
The report notes fares climb in the first quarter of the year, but as we come off March Break vacations, consumers can start to find deals on getaways.
Additionally, airlines have been implementing new rules and revenue models to inflate fares.
“We foresee a continued upward trend in the average ticket price through 2019,” said Christophe Renard, Vice President of CWT Solutions Group. “Post-booking price tracking tools can be an effective way for companies to optimize the cost of expensive tickets before upcoming departures.”
A new trend has emerged where travellers are booking last-minute, and this will continue through the next quarter of 2019.
