How to filter out flights on Boeing 737 MAX 8

Flight search engine Kayak plans to update its search filters on their website to exclude the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft amidst growing concern from travellers.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft is the plane that killed all 157 people on board an Ethiopian Airlines flight over the weekend.

“We’ve recently received feedback to make KAYAK’s filters more granular in order to exclude particular aircraft models from search queries,” Kayak’s CTO Giorgos Zacharia said. “We are releasing that enhancement globally later this week and are committed to providing our customers with all the information they need to travel with confidence.”

On Wednesday morning, Canada’s transport minister and U.S. president Donald Trump both issued bans on the Boeing 737 MAX across the countries’ respective airspaces until further notice, based on new information analyzed by travel and aviation experts.

“We are releasing that enhancement this week and are committed to providing our customers with all the information they need to travel with confidence,” a spokesperson told Reuters.

Kayak hopes the filter can minimize worry for those looking to book travel in the coming months.
