Amazon lowers prices at Whole Foods, introduces new incentives for Prime members

Your groceries might not cost a whole paycheque much longer.

Amazon, the parent company of Whole Foods Market, is reducing prices on many of their products in their grocery chain starting Wednesday.

Many products “will be reduced by an average of 20 per cent on select items throughout the store.” This will affect everything from produce to meat.

The online retailer acquired Whole Foods in August 2017, and this marks the third time Amazon has slashed prices across the board in an attempt to change their approach and attract new shoppers.

Whole Foods will also double the number of products discounted to Amazon Prime members, featuring rotating deals, and perks like free delivery and pickup in some cities.
