Air Canada investigating how passenger woke up in dark, parked plane

We’ve all been there. You’re on a long flight and fall asleep in hopes of helping time pass by.

One passenger may have slept a little too long when she woke up in a dark, parked Air Canada plane in Toronto last month.

The airline is now looking into how crew could have left the plane without noticing the woman sleeping in her seat.

Tiffani Adams described her experience waking up as “all alone” and “cold and dark,” like a “bad dream.”

“We are still reviewing this matter so we have no additional details to share, but we have followed up with the customer and remain in contact with her,” Air Canada told the Associated Press.

On top of the fear when waking up, Adams said her phone died so she couldn’t get in touch with loved ones, so she panicked, tried to use the “walky-talky thingys in the cockpit,” but finally used a flashlight out the window to get the attention of ground crew.

She was offered a limo and hotel stay, declined, but did receive an apology and promise of an investigation.

Air Canada is in contact with the passenger and is “very concerned.”
