Couple just misses cruise ship in Nassau

This can’t be a great feeling.

A couple cruising on the Symphony of the Seas was a split second too late when the ship was pulling out of port in Nassau last Friday.

The video was recorded by someone in a building nearby and posted to YouTube.

Just as the doors were being closed, the couple was seen running towards the ship, hoping Royal Caribbean would let them back on. Unfortunately, it was too late.

The poster of the video reported in the caption that the cruise line waited at least 20 minutes before closing the gangway. The ship then closed up, powered up its thrusters, and went on its way to the next port leaving the couple behind.

Travel blog Cruise Critic posted a guide on what to do if you miss your ship, including finding a port agent, calling the cruise line, making travel arrangements to meet at the next port, and most importantly, relax.

Yet another good reminder to be back at the ship on time—so you don’t find yourself in a similar situation.
