Air Canada Rouge to launch daily flights between Calgary, London, Ont.

In an effort to increase travel between western and eastern Canada, Air Canada Rouge is launching seasonal service between Calgary, Alta., and London, Ont., starting June.

Daily flights will run June through October from Calgary International Airport (YYC) and London International Airport (YXU).

“We are pleased to expand Air Canada’s domestic network linking London, Ontario to our Calgary hub with daily seasonal flights this summer,” says Mark Galardo, vice-president of network planning at Air Canada. “We have strategically added these nonstop services between the considerable southern Ontario market and Alberta to offer both convenient point-to-point travel, as well as easy connections at our Calgary hub to and from destinations throughout Alberta and B.C. including Vancouver Island.”

Connecting London and Calgary will enable better access to those in southwestern Ontario, without driving to Toronto-Pearson, or taking an ultra-low-cost flight from a competitor like WestJet’s Swoop.

The daily flights will leave London-YXU at 7 a.m. (AC1697), arriving at Calgary-YYC after 9 a.m., and the return flight (AC1698) will leave Calgary at 4:10 p.m., landing back in London just before 10 p.m.
