The cruise industry: Are you a fan?

In response to Master Travellr‘s cruise article Thursday discussing ways the industry has evolved, we decided to round up some of your comments.

My best cruise so far was #OasisOfTheSeas, sister ship to the #Allure. Best part was size. Even with more than 5,500 passengers you had your space. Love the shopping.

We cruised on Allure end of January , I have a young family and it was amazing. It’s a great way to travel with kids, so much to do and see, the ship and staff were unreal , had a great view of the aqua theatre and ocean from our 12th deck room, we loved it .

Just did NCL Breakaway in January. Favourite part & something we hadn’t seen before was The Waterfront. They had bars & restaurant seating on that outside mid-level deck that wraps around. Also had comfy chairs & day beds. Away from the crowds & bands.

Hubby and I are hooked on cruising, we started off on The Oasis, then the Allure, then back to Oasis and next cruise is on The Symphony, can’t wait to get totally spoilt again!

I prefer the small ships, Windstar, Viking, Seabourne

I like River Cruise’s ……….more intimate atmospheres! Limited amount of passengers!

I went on Oasis of the Seas. Never again. They gouge you for everything. Everything. 1 week too long. Huge ship, we felt so much turbulence and the weather was nice! Best part were the ports where we could get off! Sorry.. next time, weekend cruise only or a River Cruise Europe

  1. We did our first cruise in December 2018. NCL Getaway. The staff, service and rooms were great. However, we were not prepared for the huge crowds and long lineups…especially “at sea” days. Unless you were at the pool by 7:00 am (or earlier) on at sea days, you were not getting a spot by the pool. We expected the rooms to be small and they were, but they were clean and very nicely done. Just don’t see us doing another cruise. Felt claustrophobic some days too. Just not our thing.
