It’s a warning from South Korean police that’s sure to cause concern.
Two men have been arrested after allegedly mounting cameras in dozens of hotel rooms in South Korea.
These devices were in over 30 hotels in 10 cities across the country, according to local police, and were disguised as electrical sockets, TV boxes, and hairdryer holders.
According to a CNN report, upwards of 1,600 hotel guests were recorded and live-streamed to thousands of members on a paid private website, charging $44.95 a month.
“There was a similar case in the past where illegal cameras were installed in (hotels) and were consistently and secretly watched,” police said to CNN. “This is the first time the police caught where videos were broadcast live on the Internet.”
This story comes after a handful of K-pop stars admitted to filming and distributing adult videos without consent.
The South Korean men believed to be at the head of this operation have been arrested, and an investigation is underway.
