It was a marketing stunt that paid off for 10 people in Calgary.
Some in Calgary walked by a teal phone booth ringing, but only a handful picked up the call. The booth, familiarly WestJet Teal, was part of a new video titled #LondonCalling that sent some lucky winners across the point to celebrate the airline’s new 787-9 Dreamliner service between Calgary and London.
In the video, smiles and tears were triggered in WestJet fashion as they were told they won two roundtrip tickets with the carrier.
“London is an incredible destination for our guests and with our new non-stop Dreamliner service between Calgary and London, Gatwick there’s never been a more comfortable way to get there,” said Richard Bartrem of WestJet.
“We thought there was no better approach to entice guests to visit Britain than by testing out Calgarians’ curiosity for adventure through the unusual ringing of an iconic London phone booth in our own downtown core.”
