Aeroplan premium credit card holders can jump-start their 2022 status

Air Canada announced Monday that for Aeroplan members who hold a premium co-branded credit card and spend $10,000 through a defined date, can either earn 25K status or jump to the next tier for the 2022 year.

Aeroplan is offering yet another offer that will allow premium credit cardholders to jump-start their status as travel starts to heat up in Canada and the U.S.

Air Canada announced Monday that for Aeroplan members who hold a premium co-branded credit card with TD, CIBC, or American Express, existing or new through Oct. 1, 2021, and spend $10,000 through a defined date, can either earn 25K status or jump to the next tier for the 2022 year.

“We’re now excited to give members an offer that will turbocharge their status qualification with our Aeroplan Premium tier credit cards,” the airline said in a press release. “With this offer, Premium cardholders will be able to earn, step up a tier in 2022 or help them get ahead on their status for 2023.”

Details for existing premium cardholders (on/before July 11, 2021):

Starting July 12, eligible existing primary cardholders who register will be able to reach status or jump up a tier more easily than ever through their everyday spend.

For Super Elite Status members, an enhanced offer will allow members to earn towards 2023 status, upon meeting the $10,000 by the required date:

  • 25,000 Bonus Status Qualifying Miles
  • 25 Bonus Status Qualifying Segments, and
  • 3,000 Bonus Status Qualifying Dollars

The variable required date is dependent on the acquisition timing of the card. If you acquired your card between January 1 and July 11, 2021, you have between July 1 and November 30, 2021, to spend $10,000.  If you acquired your card before January 1, 2021, you have between July 1 and October 15, 2021, to spend $10,000.

New Premium Cardholders

A new offer is made specifically for new premium credit cardholders acquired between July 12 and October 1, 2021. The same $10,000 spend requirement must be met by Nov. 30, 2021.

  • Members who do not already status, will earn Aeroplan 25K Status for 2022.
  • Aeroplan 25K, 35K or 50K Status members will jump to the next tier for 2022.
  • Aeroplan 75K or Super Elite Status will earn 25,000 Bonus Status Qualifying Miles, 25 Bonus Status Qualifying Segments and $3,000 Bonus Status Qualifying Dollars to jump start their 2023 Status.
