Imagine you’re being surprised with a “nice little trip to Las Vegas for a few days” only to find out 21 of your family members were on the other side.
That’s what happened in a surprised trip coordinated by Swoop for an Ontario family.
The video, shot, edited, and published by the Calgary-based airline tugs at the heartstrings and shows the surprise Kryk family reunion. Among family members included some who haven’t seen each other since 2010.
“A lot of us live far away from each other, and, also cost-wise, it’s difficult to get a large group together in one city,” the daughter said.
Parents Patricia and Lewis landed to be embraced by loved ones, and swept away on a packed tour of Sin City—including visits to Cirque du Soleil, Fremont Street, even renewal of vows at the Little White Chapel.
WestJet, parent company of Swoop, has been known to put out similar viral video campaigns—typically around Christmas.
The social media stunt was part of a larger marketing campaign and contest where winners are chosen to win roundtrip airfare to anywhere Swoop flies for up to six people.
The seat sale runs through Thursday, Feb. 21, for travel between April 29 and June 24.
