Marriott International isn’t the only one snapping up other hotel chains.
Phoenix-based company Best Western Hotels & Resorts has acquired WorldHotels, which includes 300 hotels and resorts around the world. Financial details were not disclosed.
The WorldHotels acquisition will help Best Western enhance their portfolio and compete in a growing luxury and boutique hotel market.
“There is tremendous synergy between Best Western and WorldHotels. By joining forces in this new partnership,” said David Kong, CEO of Best Western Hotels & Resorts. “We will create competitive advantages for both companies.”
The deal was completed last week, and the CEO of WorldHotels is expected to stay on board “for the foreseeable future.”
“Best Western is one of the largest, most respected and trusted hotel brands,” said Geoff Andrew, CEO of WorldHotels. “As we join forces, the combined power of our brands sets the stage for a bright future for both Best Western and WorldHotels.”
